Hans Haveron, Skin Painter, Air Brush Make-Up Artist, Muralist, Art Director, Live Painter and Photographer
I have been a fan of Hans Haveron’s art work for a long time. I have seen him paint live at many an event and he is always humble and fun to talk to while he creates his master pieces. Often seen collaborating with other artists, such as John Park or Amanda Sage, he began as a graffiti artist in his early teens but became famous for developing a style of skin painting and air brush make-up that can still be seen from the deepest underground party to the highest fashion magazine. World famous celebrities are now his art clients and Adam Lambert is even tattooing a piece of his on his arm. He kept true to his free artist spirit even while working with costume designer, Mona May, on Disney’s Enchanted, on music videos with Britney Spears, and working with countless other celebrities such as Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson.
LA HOT Magazine is grateful that Hans will be appearing in the mock up issue of our magazine and that he gave us this interview in his studio in Los Angeles. You can see some of his art work in the background in its beginning stages. Join us to see Hans Haveron at his Solo Art show, Black Diamond, at Cave Gallery on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, CA on December 9th, 2011 and see what the painting in the background of this interview looks like when it is complete.

Lululemon Robertson Store Grand Opening ‘Create Connect Community’ Party
When Rock & Republic moved from this spot I might have actually shed tears but if any store could put the smile back on my face, it’s Lululemon. The Rock & Republic sign became a Rock & Peace sign a few months back, but the grand opening of their Robertson store at 103 South Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles was Saturday night, November 5th, 2011.

Lululemon is the epitome of what we believe to be LA HOT. This company is full of friendly and knowledgeable employees that always make you smile and feel welcome. They truly care about the community with weekly free yoga classes and jogging clubs as well as countless other events. Their products are high quality, eco-friendly, comfortable and fashionable. No wonder the theme of their party was ‘Create Connect Community’
Their new store was packed with the most fit people in town mingling, laughing, eating, drinking. shopping, dancing and creating their own headbands. From little children to their grandparents, amateur yogis to the top yoga instructors, and casual joggers to marathon addicts, everyone was having a good time.
There was an artist painting canvases in one store window and a band complete with a horn section and DJ headed by a singer, Erika Jaye, who just happens to also work at the Beverly Hills store in the other store window. What a voice and the sweetest smile!
All the way from Vancouver’s Lululemon LAB, Lindsay Walsh, Jenny Gagne, and Maneli Nourbakhsh set up a table for creating your very own party favor work out band as well sharing two wardrobe pieces that are not available anywhere else: the Convert pant and the Hummingbird tank. The Convert pant is a scrumptious pair of pants with a roll up or down top, that is super versatile, comfortable and fashionable for anything from working out to date night. The Hummingbird tank is made out of silk derived from wood pulp so it’s ultra fashionable, comfortable and guilt-free eco-conscious. You must go now and get these items because you will never have a chance to get these limited pieces after they are sold out of this store, so I highly recommend a visit today.
Sadly, I had to run off to an art show party at Smashbox Studios which you can read about in my next blog, but I had to see the final art pieces so I returned in the morning to take this quick shot. The paintings show some of the slogans fan might recognize: “Breathe Deeply” and “Dance, Sing, Floss & Travel”. Words to live by.

John Park Striking his Mark on the Live Painting Phenomenon
John Park is always a pleasure to see at an event because of his friendly, good-hearted nature and his incredible artistic talent, so it’s no wonder he is asked to paint live at events all over Los Angeles, from the hippest galleries such as the Cave and Thinkspace Galleries to the world-renowned LACMA.
At the SupperClub Los Angeles’s Limelight Thurzdaze special Halloween Birthday edition, Ashley Bowers joined him to collaborate for the art piece you see here. Ashley Bowers is incredible and I cannot wait to interview her soon.
John Park has collaborated with many other artists such as the incredible Hans Haveron.

Branded Arts Event at Smashbox
A DJ set by Samantha Ronson might have drawn quite a crowd to Smashbox Studios, but most of the clientele seemed more interested in enjoying the art and company. Warren Brand of Branded Arts curated the event. (seen below with me, Stephanie Spanjian, and Samantha Ronson.
You can tell the art appreciation level by taking into consideration the depth in which the clientele gaze and investigate the work.
I really enjoyed the Banksy children playing spin the bottle with a Corona bottle. So much expression with a few strokes.
Although this composition of a child with a grenade and peace painting really struck an obvious chord.
All the art displayed inspired plenty to collaborate on a communal painting up near the dance floor. I’d have taken a photo of this but it was packed full of people expressing themselves and I didn’t want to interrupt!
I highly suggest coming to the next Branded Arts event. So many incredible artists and a good crowd of real people. Nothing super flashy just good people having a good time.
Lots of people outside flocking to many local artists creating near some couches and smokers all under a full moon.
It was a beautiful LA night.
